About Us

We are a global family of visionaries, donors, healers, and humanitarians. Our wings are lifted by love and guided by Spirit.

At Butterfly Effect Global, we believe that small acts of love can spark monumental change. What begins as a ripple of compassion can become a wave that transforms entire communities.

We are committed to uplifting underserved populations in India and beyond. Our work is rooted in service, dignity, and empowerment.

Core Initiatives:

  • Water is life. Our Blessing Wells bring clean, life-giving water to tribal villages that have long suffered without it. Each well is a sacred offering—often dedicated in memory or honor of a loved one—bringing hope, health, and stability to entire communities.

  • In the forgotten corners of India, we walk alongside those affected by leprosy. Our work includes providing monthly food rations, mosquito nets, access to healthcare, vitamins, and soon—critical medications for 90+ residents.

  • Empowerment begins with opportunity. Our first Skill Building Center focuses on sewing and tailoring—equipping women with tools, education, and the ability to generate income. This offers a pathway to financial independence, leadership, and lasting transformation over multi-generations.

Founder’s Story

Butterfly Effect Global was founded by Rev. Dr. Lori McMacken, a former Radio City Rockette turned spiritual leader. Her first memorial water well in India sparked a ripple of compassion. Since then, she has inspired over one-hundred fifty wells and expanded her mission to support leprosy colonies, food rations, and women’s skill-building centers. Lori is devoted to uplifting lives with love and purpose.

Her partner, John Barnard, has spent over 25 years doing humanitarian work in Africa. In Uganda, he has focused on skill-building in refugee camps, distributing food rations, and empowering displaced people through Huruma Clothing, which provides tailoring jobs and creative hubs. He also assists with medical care for communities in the Maasai wilderness.

A mutual friend who recognized their shared mission introduced Lori and John. Together, they’ve united their hearts and hands in a vision for Butterfly Effect Global to help humanity move forward through compassion, healing, and empowerment.
