Janipoda Village
Blessing Well
Honoring Loene Gossett & Daniel McCleland
Ernie and Brigitte Gossett honor their sister, Loene Gossett, and her husband, Daniel McCleland, with the gift of a Blessing Well in Janipoda Village, Odisha, India. Before this Blessing Well, the people of Janipoda Village depended on a single contaminated river for survival. This same water was used for bathing, washing clothes, cooking meals, and watering livestock. Buffalo bathed upstream, and the water flowed unfiltered into the daily lives of the villagers. It was the only water source they had. The consequences were devastating. Waterborne illnesses were common, and nearly every day someone in the village fell gravely ill—or died. Mothers lived in constant fear for their children. Clean water was not a convenience; it was a matter of life and death. Today, that story has changed. With the installation of this Blessing Well, Janipoda Village now has access to clean, life-giving water. Children can drink without fear. Families can cook and bathe safely. Disease has been replaced with dignity, health, and renewed hope for the future. What was once a daily struggle for survival has become a foundation for life, wellness, and stability for generations to come. This Blessing Well stands as a living legacy of love—honoring Loene and Daniel, and forever transforming Janipoda Village through compassion, generosity, and the ripple effect of one sacred act.
"This Blessing Well flows in Honor of Daniel McCleland and his wife Loene Gossett, whose legacy of Love now sustains life through clean water."
