Laura Ember Honors the Ember Family

Before the Well When this well came, we could not believe it was real. We know this was not an accident — it was the answer to decades of prayer. For more than 50 years, the elders of our village — mothers, fathers, grandmothers — prayed for clean water. We prayed that our children would live. We prayed to see the next generation grow strong. Before this well, we did not know how we would survive. To fetch water, we had to fight wild animals — bears, tigers — and even when we found water, it was filthy and dangerous. It made us sick. It was like poison. For 70 or 80 years, our lives were a daily struggle just to survive. Every day was a fight — against nature, against sickness, against fear. But now, through this Blessing Well, everything has changed. God answered our prayers through the Ember Family. Now we live. Now our children will grow. Now there is peace. Message to Laura Ember and the Ember Family Please tell her… we do not have words strong enough to express what we feel. If she could hear our hearts, she would hear love flowing through every beat. She has saved our village. She has brought happiness and blessings to our people. Even when we are gone, her name will remain — in our hearts and in the hearts of our children. Her love flows through us now. With every heartbeat, her name lives on in Haldigundi Village.
