At Butterfly Effect Global, our mission is simple — to be love in action for those the world has forgotten.

Over the past couple of years, I’ve consistently visited two leprosy colonies in Odisha, India: Gadwaguda Village and Jankinagar Village. At first, I was afraid to go. But once I learned that leprosy could not be transmitted through casual contact, I was able to relax and open my heart. What I discovered changed me forever. These villagers, though living in heartbreaking conditions, radiate love and kindness.

With active leprosy and weakened immune systems, they sleep on the cold, damp ground — a place that invites disease, rats, and venomous snakes. Some wake up soaked. Others wake up in pain. Last February, one woman with leprosy showed us where rats had bitten her during the night. Her wounds were open and needed new bandages, so we asked Thabir to deliver ointment and fresh supplies immediately.

We’re now launching a heartfelt campaign to lift each of these 90 souls off the ground — by gifting them the healing grace of a bed.

For just $150, you can provide a clean, dry, and safe place for someone with leprosy to rest and begin to heal. A bed may seem small — but in these villages, it is everything. We currently have 5 beds, while the others live in prayer, hoping a stranger from a faraway land will extend compassion.
