🌍 The Butterfly Effect: A Wave of Healing and Transformation
This month marks a powerful milestone for Butterfly Effect Global as we launch our Medical Mission in the Leprosy Colonies of Odisha, India.
For decades, these precious souls have lived on the outskirts of society—ignored, forgotten, and shunned. Many have endured unimaginable suffering, not only from leprosy itself but from the isolation and stigma that followed.
Leprosy, also known as Hansen’s Disease, is a bacterial infection that can be easily cured with antibiotics. Yet for many of these individuals, treatment came too late. After years—sometimes decades—of neglect, they now live with lasting effects: the loss of fingers and toes, disfigured faces, and open wounds that have gone untreated for over 20 years.
But this week, a new chapter has begun.
✨ Healing has arrived.
Our dedicated medical team began administering medication and cleaning long-standing wounds—some for the very first time. For these 90 souls across two colonies, this marks not only physical healing but also emotional and spiritual restoration. (Below Thabir interviews a man who has had leprosy for 35 years)
At the same time, our team delivered 26 new beds to the colony. During the harsh monsoon season, many residents were waking up soaked in mud, sleeping directly on the ground. Today, they rest on clean beds—with dignity, comfort, and renewed self-worth.
