Empowering Tribal Women Through Skill Building

Today, we celebrate a remarkable milestone! Twelve women from the Butterfly Effect Global Skill Building Center have officially graduated after four months of dedicated training.

They proudly showcased their completed projects, including beautiful sari sets consisting of a blouse, petticoat, and sari, as well as lungis and shirts for the gentlemen of the leprosy colonies.

These women are participating in a "learn-to-own" program, sewing clothing for the leprosy colonies to earn the sewing machines they will take home. With each stitch, they are building confidence, dignity, and a pathway toward financial independence.

I will never forget the words spoken in the movie Gandhi: "Give the people a skill."

Those simple words inspired a vision that is now becoming reality.

Because of the generosity of Butterfly Effect Global donors, these women now possess a skill that can serve them, their families, and their communities for years to come. What began as sewing lessons has become a movement of empowerment, self-confidence, and transformation.
