🦋 The Bridge of Survival: 200 Bags of Love in Action
My heart is overflowing with gratitude.
When we reached out to our Butterfly Effect Global community during this emergency in Odisha, India, love answered.
Because of your extraordinary generosity, 200 bags of food rations have now been funded—each providing approximately one month of essential food for a family.
Two hundred families will have one less thing to worry about as they begin the difficult work of rebuilding their lives.
My partner, John, said something that has stayed with me:
“This food becomes the bridge of survival.”
For families who have lost so much, having food for the coming weeks gives them precious breathing room. Instead of wondering where tomorrow’s meal will come from, they can begin focusing on rebuilding their homes, returning to work, finding sources of income, and taking the next step forward.
And once again, our India Country Manager, Thabir Bagh, demonstrated what compassionate leadership looks like.
There was no hesitation.
As soon as he learned that the food had been funded, Thabir contacted the food supplier, prepared the distribution poster, organized additional Butterfly Effect Global food ration bags, and began coordinating the relief effort.
By the very next day, the truck was being packed.
Because many of the villages remain flooded and difficult to safely reach, Thabir contacted families and arranged for them to gather at a central location where the food could be distributed without asking people to remain standing in flooded areas.
Compassion became action almost immediately.
That is the Butterfly Effect.
One person gives.
Another person responds.
A truck is loaded.
A family receives food.
And somewhere across the world, a mother knows her children will eat.
Yet the need remains enormous.
Approximately 7,000 families in this rural region are in need of assistance
Many of these families live in remote tribal and historically marginalized communities where humanitarian resources can be extremely limited.
We know that Butterfly Effect Global cannot help everyone.
But we can do our part.
And sometimes our part becomes someone else’s bridge to tomorrow.
For that reason, we are leaving the door open for anyone who still feels called to contribute toward additional emergency food rations.
Every contribution becomes part of this beautiful ripple of humanity helping humanity.

Dancing a Prayer for Humanity
This Sunday, I also invite you to join us at Seaside Center for Spiritual Living for the Dances of Universal Peace.
The Dances of Universal Peace are a beautiful spiritual practice of simple sacred songs, movement, and prayer drawn from the world’s spiritual traditions.
We gather in a circle.
We sing.
We move together.
And we offer our practice as a prayer for peace and for our human family.
After witnessing what is happening in India and throughout our world, I can think of no more meaningful time to gather together in prayer for humanity.
Something New Is Calling
And on Wednesday, September 16, 2026, I will be speaking during Seaside’s Inner Light Service—Meditation, Music & Message.
My talk is titled:
“Something New Is Calling”
There are moments in life when something within us begins to stir.
A new idea.
A new direction.
A new purpose.
A call we may not completely understand yet—but one that asks us to listen, trust, and take the next step.
Perhaps the call comes through inspiration.
Perhaps it comes through heartbreak.
Perhaps it comes because we suddenly see a need in the world and realize:
I can do something.
That is how ripples begin.
One response.
One act of courage.
One bag of food.
One prayer.
One life touching another.
And then another.
Until the ripple becomes the wave.
